Marty graduated the University of Iowa with a Bachelors of Business Administration degree with a double major in Accounting and Finance & Insurance. After serving in various accounting and business management positions in the public and private sectors, Marty founded Jannsen + Company in 1975. He served as Managing Shareholder until 1998. He currently serves as Chairman of the Board for Jannsen + Company.
Marty provides tax advisory and consulting services to businesses and individuals. He specializes in working with closely held and family owned businesses in the areas of startup, organization, profit planning, business plans, loan applications and succession planning.
Marty is involved with numerous professional, civic and non-profit organizations. He is an active member of the Waukesha Rotary Club and serves as President of the Waukesha Rotary Club Charitable Fund, Inc. for the 2010-11 term.
In addition, he is an Executive Board Member on the Potawatomi Area Council of the Boy Scouts of America and is an Advisory Board Member for the Central Region of the Boy Scouts of America. Marty is also a member of the Wisconsin Chapter of the Model A Ford Club of America.
